I grew up with metal, but “metal” like Zeppelin and Rush. I stayed in the shallow end of the metal pool because the deep end was scary and intense.
The pool is still there and I still occasionally and gingerly drive past. The boys in the deep end are still at it. They are still loud, disturbing, and very, very dark. That’s OK, I don’t need to get out. I can hear it from the street.
