Tucker Carlson is Irrelevant

FOX News is a Fifth Column. The Disinformation Will Not Stop.

I understand the schadenfreude surrounding the firing of the smug fascist FOX News anchor Tucker Carlson. I really do. Focusing on his departure, however, takes focus away from the fact that FOX News continues to operate unhindered as a fifth column in American society.

The term “Fifth Column” derives from WWII’s “dress rehearsal,” the Spanish Civil War of 1936-1939, in which the fascist forces of Generalissimo Francisco Franco destroyed the Second Spanish Republic.

The Fifth Column described the fascist forces within the Second Republic who sought to undermine democratic institutions through disinformation, assassination, or any means at their disposal. Ernest Hemingway wrote a play about it.
