If we are honest, we will see that adults create Santa for ourselves, not our children. When we teach our children about Santa we live vicariously in the charmed, Santa-filled world we lost when the veil of childhood was removed, when weightless joy transformed into the heavy burden of a scary world.
For me, Christmas is Peanuts - the comic strip, not the legume.
