Album Review: Sierra Hull's ‘A Tip Toe High Wire'
Hull's First Recording In Five Years Is Deep And Spirited
Twenty years ago musical prodigy Sierra Hull burst out of Byrdstown, Tennessee at the tender age of thirteen; she released her debut album at seventeen.
Her contract with Rounder Records now complete, on March 7 Hull released “A Tip Toe High Wire,” a self-produced recording with an independent vibe.
The album’s ten songs clock in at an irregular 35 minutes, somewhere between an EP and full-length album. One senses that Hull may have relished the opportuity to release her music just as she wished, free of industry product specifications.
